Morgan Sindall, BAM and Ferrovial team up for HS2
The joint venture, named Fusion, will combine each company’s expertise in design, construction and innovation in a collaboration that is uniquely equipped to deliver the complex infrastructure and community solutions required for HS2.
Fusion’s ultimate aim is to connect people and communities to support and stimulate business growth – both through HS2 and other pioneering infrastructure programmes.
The Fusion partners have a hugely impressive track record, which includes the delivery of high speed rail in Spain, UK (HS1), Holland and Belgium, as well as the maintenance of significant elements of the Spanish and Dutch high speed network.
The Fusion team has been working closely together for over three years to crystallise its joint offer and governance structure for the JV. This ensures Fusion is ready for the start of the HS2 procurement cycle. Fusion has established its headquarters in Birmingham.
Roger Robinson, the experienced construction executive, has been appointed as independent Chairman of Fusion, and says he is extremely excited about the HS2 programme and the talent that Fusion brings.
“To be involved in HS2 is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity – and Fusion is ready to make it a reality. The amalgamation of our portfolios and the pool of talent available in our people and supply chain is extraordinary.
“We are uniquely placed to support HS2 in connecting communities across the UK to new opportunities and growth, and to take the construction industry to the next level in terms of collaborative delivery of significant infrastructure.
We are committed to realising HS2’s potential in harmony with the communities along the route, and in collaboration with the many other organisations that will form the HS2 team.”
